Moments of Pause

Brief audio recordings (30 seconds to 5 minutes) designed to gently support nervous system regulation and help you build capacity in small, sustainable ways.

These are simple, steady practices — meant to be used in real life, not in perfect conditions.

Beauty as Regulation

Not every intervention comes in a bottle or a protocol.

Sometimes a quiet moment with beauty is enough to gently shift your physiology.

Roots & Wings * New Life. New Music. *

Roots & Wings * New Life. New Music. *

Mqn in mid-fifties to early sixties is leaning back on sofa with his eyes closed, but clearly listening to music.

Our grandparents, our parents — and most of us — have a soundtrack tied to the best parts of our lives. Music that brings back when we were younger and more vibrant, danced the night away, and felt connected to people and life itself.

With chronic illness, those same songs may carry something else. They can highlight what’s changed in our lives — and instead of helping, they can overwhelm the nervous system.

For that reason, I often suggest finding new-to-you music.
Music without history.
Music that meets you where you are now.

What you will find here is some of the music I’m currently listening to AND loving. It will change every few weeks.

Nothing too loud.
Nothing too demanding.
Nothing too full of memories.

Just a little something to keep us company while supporting calm, settled nervous systems.

Food for Thought:
Essays and Mini-Essays

I was once taught an essay form that values clarity over completeness — brief reflections written from a single vantage point, often attributed to Sir Francis Bacon. I’ve taken up that pen again.

These essays are offered in the spirit of conversation. You might think of them as moments where I’d pause and ask, “Do you mind if I say something?”

You’ll be able to find them here beginning September 15, 2026.
Please come back.
